What would you like to ask?How stupid is it to work in a state you have to pay state income tax?.

In Tennessee and Florida to name two you don't have to pay state income tax. Now think how much that would save you in 40 years. It could save you a couple thousand a year. There are stupid people who don't consider if they move to a state they don't have to pay income tax they can save a ton of money.

State income tax is only one way states get money. You need to take into consideration both property taxes and sales taxes. Tennessee may not have an income tax, but the sales tax is as much as 9.75 percent in most counties. And even food is taxed at as much as 8.25%. Tennessee also has the "Hall Tax" on interest and dividend income.

The United States Federal Tax Code is extremely lengthy and complicated. In some cases, it requires 250 pages of instruction for just one of its paragraphs. Add to that 8 billion pages of 480 different tax forms American taxpayers receive each year from IRS (enough paper to stretch around the earth 28 times) and it’s no wonder so many people are intimidated and confused about their taxes...

Do we have to pay income tax?

Do I need to pay US income tax for foreign earned income?.

Do I need to pay US income tax on foreign (UK) earned income?
I'm a US citizen and live in US. If I work for a UK based company from US, would I need to pay tax on my foreign earned income. I would not be living in UK to do the work but would do so remotely in US and get paid by the UK based company to my US bank account. My home tax country is US.

Do I need to pay US income tax for foreign earned income? If so, which form I would need to use? Your response is appreciated. Thanks!

If it is a large UK company like Glaxo Smith Kline, I would asssum it woudl be taxed in the U.S. Your physical location woud have a bearing on the tax treatment. Consult a tax service or your accountant. It is sounds like a simple fact question. Just give them the details of your employment contract.
