How much is a Tax training course?.
I would like to know the length of time it takes a person to accomplish a certificate in preparing taxes? Also what is the fee to attend the classes? Is their hands on availble with an instructor to guide you through with answers to problems you may come up against? Can you find traing year round for tax preparations?
For the year 2010 only three states have required certification of tax preparers. By 2013 the IRS will require a type of certification for everyone. Most of the less expensive courses are by people like H&R Block or Jackson Hewitt. They are looking to train potential preparers for employment. Those courses normally start in September or October and run through December. California requires 60 hours of in class training although they now accept a limited number of computer based classes. The cost is as varied as the quality of instruction.*
